After building the miraculous bridge to Lanka (Rama Setu) with the help of the Vanara army and divine blessings, Rama, Lakshmana, Hanuman, and the entire monkey force crossed the ocean and entered Lanka. Upon reaching, Rama first sent Angada, the son of Vali, as a messenger to Ravana, offering peace and requesting the return of Sita. Ravana, arrogant and blinded by pride, rejected the offer and insulted the messenger. With diplomacy failed, Rama prepared for war.
The great battle of Lanka began between Rama’s Vanara army and Ravana’s massive army of Rakshasas (demons). Fierce fighting took place on both sides. Powerful warriors like Meghanada (Indrajit), Ravana’s son, and Kumbhakarna, Ravana’s giant brother, entered the war. Indrajit used dark magic and weapons like the Nagapasha to bind Rama and Lakshmana, but Garuda, the mount of Lord Vishnu, appeared and freed them. Kumbhakarna was eventually slain by Rama after a mighty fight.
Indrajit also proved to be a deadly opponent, injuring Lakshmana seriously. To save him, Hanuman flew to the Himalayas and brought the entire Sanjeevani herb-laden mountain, helping Lakshmana recover. Later, Lakshmana killed Indrajit in a fierce duel by destroying his magical powers through prayer and strength.
Finally, Rama and Ravana faced each other in a grand and intense battle. At the heart of the battle, Rama employed crucial strategies taught by Krishna in the Bhagavad Gita: unwavering focus, selflessness, and dharma. Ravana’s might was legendary—ten heads, unmatched power—but Rama’s bow, the celestial Kodanda, and his purity of purpose ensured victory
After a fierce duel, Rama ultimately overpowered Ravana. Ravana was ultimately defeated by Rama with the help of the divine Brahmastra, after Rama struck his weak spot. As Ravana fell, Rama upheld his dignity by giving him a respectful farewell.. His death signaled the triumph of dharma and restoration of righteousness. Sita was reunited with Rama, symbolizing the restoration of cosmic order and the promise of a righteous reign.
